Creative Visualization of North American Rivers

ASLA 2017 Annual Meeting, Los Angeles, CA

Through the river research and design work of four North American MLA programs, this session demonstrates how advanced representation and modeling are necessary to develop convincing design solutions for problems of climate change, water scarcity, and the development pressures placed on our hydrological systems. With panelists Karen M’Closkey, ASLA, Alissa North, ASLA, CSLA, and Alexander Robinson, ALSA, attendees will learn about contemporary approaches and strategies for river design from across North America. They will understand how visualizations and simulation are affecting design methods and how landscape architects engage with the design of hydrological systems.
